“Senza titolo, rilevazione di uno spazio domestico” is a project that was born in the time of isolation due to the pandemic, during which reflecting on the question of dwelling – rather than a choice – took on the sense of a response to events. The project, in fact, stems from the condition of total inability to access the materials of the author’s artistic practice. The studio, the first room drawn, from the usual place of work became the object and, at the same time, the material of the work. The gaze turned to the room-atelier then turned radically to the apartment of which the studio is a part. Representing spaces, to recognize and name them, became a gesture of interpreting experience. The question of dwelling has now taken on the return to the private dimension to which it has been necessary to become accustomed, particularly in private space (made performative in skypecalls) and in the dimension of smart-working (space for self). The dwelling is the place where existential trajectories overlap: observing with a meticulous gaze the domestic space took on, in the months of the pandemic, the characteristics of a constant practice of construction and design. Taking on the sense of caring for the place in which the artist lives, the daily practice of drawing the domestic and its furnishings became care of the space, in which each person develops and negotiates relationships with both the inside and the outside and, thus, care of the self.
